colour

Colours are so powerful for me. This alium literally shimmers next to the purple leaved plant. I haven't quite captured the brilliance in this photo but each day I stare at it and go into raptures. I also have 2 purple leaved acers and when the sun shines through the leaves it is the most amazing sight. Anyone who knows me will recognise that I often choose purple as a colour for my clothes and in my art work. My hair even has a purplish tint to it. Natural you understand, naturally out of a bottle. Well, we all need a litle help from time to time. He he!
Are you passionate about colour? What is your favourite colour? Do tell!

spring pond

My husband will be disappointed to see the toad spawn in strings sitting in our wildlife pond because he had visions of clearing the duckweed before it rampaged across the surface. Too late now! Anyway the ramshorn snails are having a wonderful feast at least.

spring in my garden

Don't you just love hellebores. I must plant more this year.
A while ago, I bought a box plant and decided to have a go at topiary. It seems to have worked quite well and each year I give it a little trim to maintain the shape. It looks as though it needs feeding at the moment.

I love making little collections of plants and garden tools etc. around my garden. I also recycle things as decoration- fire grate becomes stand for pot! This will look fab when the lillies come out.

Springtime and thoughts of the garden

Been thinking about the garden and springtime! Each year I say shall we replace the old fence and then can't bring myself to spend the money on it, money that could be spent on so many luscious plants!
